DELAS WINE TASTING DINNER

This evening will showcase wines from the mighty Delas Frères wine estate in Rhône, which will be accompanied by a delicious 3 course menu created by Head Chef Leon. The price per person is £60.
Founded 160 years ago in the heart of the northern Côtes du Rhône, Delas Frères today crafts world class wines from both northern and southern Rhône.
Tending the steep sloping vineyards, which total some 30 hectares of vines, the team adapt their growing practices to each plot of vines to let the terroir of the Rhône shine through in the wines.
Crafted by winemaker Jacques Grange (who is originally from Burgundy), the wines from Delas Frères epitomise finesse and elegance. Recent vintages from the vineyards of Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Côte Rôtie, Condrieu, Côtes-du-Rhône and Côtes-du-Ventoux have been lauded in the press for their intensity of flavour and excellent value.
On Thursday 29th November we are holding a ‘Beer Tasting Dinner’. Those of you who attended the last one will know what a great evening this is. The wide variety of beers sampled suit both the male and female palette and can be enjoyed by non-beer drinkers too. Deputy Head Brewer from Fuller’s Brewery, Georgina Young, will host the event. Georgina will introduce and talk you through each variety of beer. The evening will include a delicious 4 course menu plus canapés, coffee/tea and petit fours. Each course will be matched to 2 beers; and you will be invited to rate the beer you prefer. Here are some facts that you might not know about beer:-
- It has been said that beer has a wider range of flavours than wine.
- There is an explosion of new beers in both the UK and across the globe.
- Beer has been the natural accompaniment to food for centuries; it has every right to be used in fine dining.
- Some foods like cheese, chocolate and oysters for example are best with beer.

On 21st December 2017 our Craig won MasterChef : The Professionals. Age 21 Craig is the youngest chef to ever have won it. Congratulations Craig, so well deserved we are all so very proud of you.
